Just a reminder that Scholastic book orders are due Tuesday.
We will begin a Friendship unit on Monday. This will include doing a novel study that begins on Tuesday. Yes, we will begin Because of Winn Dixie. Kids (and teachers) love it!!!!
We will be reviewing map skills, discussing landforms of Texas, and creating a state using the information we have learned in Social Studies.

The first week of school is in the books and it was a great success!!! We are well on our way of being on a roll and learning procedures. We immediately jumped in and started doing assignments on Google Classroom to get some practice. It has been a joy getting to know your kiddos.
Next week, we will be traveling and never have to leave our classroom. We will be going on a bus tour of the regions of Texas in Social Studies and we will visit the African savanna in reading. Also, we will practice a spelling list. The students will learn about the Spelling Choice Board. Vocabulary will come later.

The week before SPRING BREAK!!!! We are all dancing a happy dance! However, before we celebrate too much, we still have some work to be done! Let’s finish strong! A quick glance of happenings for next week:

Please make sure your child is here and on time! Also, your child may bring a healthy snack to eat as lunch will be at 12:30.
March 6-Flashlight Friday
Students will be participating in a DEAR Day to finish Read Across America Week. They may bring: a flashlight, a blanket, books from home, and they may bring a reading device (Kindle, Nook, etc…) BUT they must get book on device approved by me AND students must ONLY read the book. (They may not get on apps! I will explain this to students. (A big thank you to Ms. Rock for approving us bringing devices)!
Due to very limited space in classrooms to store things, please make sure your child’s DEAR things are in ONE bag (in addition to their backpack). We can not have stuff everywhere in the room. I am super excited about this DEAR Day!
