Homework is a little different this week. Yesterday, the students were sent home with a recipe with instructions. They are to intereview a “chef” in the family about a favorite recipe and write the recipe. Please make sure these are returned by February 26th.
Remember: No Valentine Party tomorrow. Students will exchange Valentine goodies and we will do Valentine work.
Watch the video and complete the worksheet “How to Make Strawberry Shortcake” (according to this story).
Students need to practice Quizlet for the vocabulary test on March 1st.
Don’t forget to practice your spelling words on Spelling City. https://www.spellingcity.com/users/schoolbussey
We just might have a full week of school. With the flu, holidays, and snow days, it’s been a crazy few weeks! This week, the students were given new spelling words and a reading passage for homework. The reading homework is due by Friday. The spelling test will be on Feb. 1st. We changed the spelling up this semester. They will have words and dictation sentences.
Here’s what we are working on this week:

*3.17ABCDE Writing process (focus on writing complete and compound sentences.
3.17ABCDE writing descriptive sentences
Social Studies: See Teacher’s Manual for Weeks 9/10 & Introduce Thomas Jefferson’s quote
The students checked their supplies today and a list was sent home of things your child needs. I told them this just might have to be stocking stuffers. Amazingly, they didn’t like that idea. LOL Seriously, if you could pick up these few supplies and send them when your child comes back from the holidays, I would greatly appreciate it. This group does a really good job of keeping up with their things!
Wish List Items:
Lysol wipes (We go through them during this time of the year)
I feel so blessed this year! I have been so blessed with awesome students and awesome parents! Much love!!!
Our Christmas party will be on Wednesday at 9:00. Mrs. Bridges has graciously headed up this party for me and has some fun things planned.
Don’t forget to send your child’s Penny Christmas and a gift bag for your child. Remember….we are asking for something very inexpensive for every child in the class (candy canes, pencils, individually wrapped candy, etc…). We want every child to go home with a bag of goodies. It’s the thought that counts and not the amount of money spent. We are going to have a wonderful time and create lasting memories!
Don’t forget to sign your child out in the classroom to save me from having heart failure when I can’t find your child….hehe!
There will be no school (or school related activities) on Thursday and Friday due to widespread illnesses. Please remember to send a doctor’s note with your child when he/she returns to school on Monday if your child missed any school. School will resume Monday. Stay/Get well!
